Best known flexible screen phones in 2020
01.03.2020 | Phones | 2 Comments
In 2019 there was a steady trend for phones with 2 screens. In past years we have seen a modest attempt which was not successful. Now you can see the struggle for who will be the first on the market with a really cool device. Of the big players in the fight publicly got involved only Samsung. Apple is still silent. If you search in the Internet, you can find that this question worries many: “Does Apple prepare a phone with a flexible screen?” At the moment, we can only follow the timid attempts of LG, Huawei, and Motorola to occupy a niche in the market of dual screen phones.
Options are available now:
- dual-screen phones
- phone with 2 screens on different sides of one phone
- phone with additional small screen
- foldable phone with 2 screens (like book)
- phone + 2nd optional detachable screen
- flexible sceen phones
- flexible dual-side screen
- foldable screen (horizontal)
- foldable screen (vertical)
I suggest that we start with the history and then see what we can expect in the market in 2020

What’s next
It’s beautiful. A new technological revolution in the smartphone market. If you look at Google trends , many are looking for “When will Apple release its flexible phone?”For many, it has become commonplace that all significant changes in the phone market are made first by Apple. But now it looks like Apple is too late. How can they respond? Who knows? I suggest that everyone follow the situation. I believe that in 2020 there will be a significant number of new models of phones with a flexible screen on the market.
Mi MIX Alpha
This is something interesting. But the price makes it a phone for businesses, tech bloggers and geeks. The phone looks amazing. XIAOMI has made a really cool phone before its competitors.

Samsung Galaxy Fold 2
The first version of the Samsung Galaxy Fold was not the most successful. There are rumors on the Internet that a second version of this smartphone will appear in 2020. But we think that Samsung should hurry. The market has boomed for phones with a folding screen. If the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 doesn’t come out soon, it may be too late. We wait and watch impatiently.
Microsoft Surface Duo
Microsoft suddenly woke up and announced something interesting. Look what they did. A folding smartphone with two displays with a concise design and a hint of paper notebooks. Looks nice. The details will be later. But it is known that it will be Android and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.
Known concepts of phones with foldable screen

There is information about some prototypes of foldable phones. For Example: Oppo Foldable Phone and Xiaomi Mi Mix Flex. It seems that not everyone has access to these technologies yet, and many are waiting for top companies to solve all technical problems, so that they can copy successful configurations.
Flexible laptops and tablets
In fact, a phone with a foldable screen is only the most obvious. But the first foldable screen tablet has already appeared on the market. We will observe how practical this is and whether this idea has a future.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold
At the moment, this laptop (or tablet) looks just like an expensive toy without a clear positioning. It looks like the main factor will be the price. Given the price of bending phones, the price of a laptop will be rather big. In terms of technology, Lenovo has taken the first step. Then there will be models from competitors, and then the real struggle for the buyer will begin. Still, this product is not for everyone.
